Cutting back on your electric bill is not an impossible task, by making some necessary changes in our daily life, a lot of electricity and money could be saved. First, make it a habit to turn off electric appliances and lights when you leave the room. This will help you save a lot of electricity on a monthly basis. Switch to LEDs, and CFLs. Buy energy efficient appliances that consume less energy. You can even switch to solar power that will not generate any electric bills.

My AC isn’t working. What should I check before calling an electrician?

We have a good grounding, do we still need surge protection?

Surge protection devices(SPD) need a good ground to work properly. AC power SPDs divert the surge current into the ground, without this device surge current will look for other paths for a good round. This path can be found through electrical appliances, and the person using it might get heavily shocked or that appliance can fail.
